JOB FUNCTIONS
A Specialist Technician provides specialist technical support to Schools as part of SolutionOne’s engagement under the eduSTAR.TSS contract with the Department of Education.

ABOUT THE COMPANY
SolutionOne is deeply entrenched within the Mornington Peninsula and responsible for providing technical support, consulting services, and hardware supply to over 1000 organisations locally and more than 40 schools across Eastern and Southern Metro Melbourne with direct hands-on and remote IT support. SolutionOne has a strong presence in the education sector, through their education division, Edunet, we supply 450 schools with IT hardware providing experienced advice ensuring schools are making the best decisions to enhance students learning experiences. We are now ready to welcome another education technician to the team as we grow and support more schools in this region.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES
  • Tasks will include but not limited to
  • - support of servers in the school
  • - support of staff notebooks/laptop computers
  • - support of network infrastructure
  • - software support
  • - configuration and monitoring of backup' s
  • Experience with Microsoft Server technologies
  • Relevant Microsoft qualifications will be viewed favourably
  • Working with Children Check
  • Driver’s license and own mode of transport essential

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Representation In all interactions with Department representatives, schools and other STs you must conduct yourself in a manner consistent with the Department and SolutionOne’s values, directions, policies and guidelines.

New technologies Support the Department’s endeavours to support and enhance the adoption of digital technologies by Schools. Support the Department with the deployment and support of IT projects and initiatives within each allocated School

End user support Support all aspects of technology for end users including the installation, maintenance, configuration, fault diagnosis.

Core Infrastructure Support the installation, maintenance, configuration, fault diagnosis and resolution regarding all aspects of Department-owned and School-owned servers, storage, and backup, wired and wireless network infrastructure and internet connectivity.

ICT Security and Privacy At all times ensure technical devices and software is securely deployed, configured and maintained

Ad hoc Incident management, documentation, ICT Planning

Training Maintain skills and knowledge of current technologies utilised in schools will be required along with maintaining any specialist training required by the Department as required.
